California State Fair

A 30th Anniversary Prop 215 tribute will be held at the California State Fair California Cannabis Experience pavilion awards ceremony on Saturday, July 18, 2026 in Sacramento. The green carpet opens at 4pm. The show goes from 6:30-8pm with competing cannabis businesses vying for the California Cannabis Awards “Best in California” recognition, medals and the prestigious Golden Bear trophy.

Prop. 215 is California's landmark ballot measure that made our state the first to legalize medical marijuana in 1996. This Anniversary event occurs about two-thirds of the way through the awards show. "Prop 215 Freedom Fighters" will be collectively awarded the Pebbles Trippet Lifetime Achievement Award, including medals awarded, a tribute video that scrolls the names of Compassionate Use Act activists and petitioners and CA NORML Director / CCHS Boardmember Dale Gieringer expressing appreciation and inviting Prop 215 activists to stand up in the audience for recognition.

The 2026 pavilion again features a cannabis consumption lounge where attendees may purchase and consume California-grown cannabis. New for this year, the Fair has added a “Home Grow – Personal Use” flower competition, where hobby growers from across the state can compete. The California Cannabis Historical Society will be there and has a booth on display from July 17-21. Please join us.
